In 1975, the King of Morocco delivered a historic speech, inviting 350,000 men and women to march across the Moroccan Sahara as one, in what was then called the Green March. In a fit of anger, Algerian President Boumediene carried out what became known as the Black March, expelling nearly 500,000 people from Morocco, some of whom had lived there for generations.
Separated from their families, children, and property, they endured an act of extreme brutality.
Since then, these victims, welcomed by Morocco, have lived a precarious life. Cut off from their roots and distant from their heritage, their feet remain in Morocco while their minds are elsewhere.
These men and women will forever bear the weight of this ordeal, passed down from father to son.
The documentary Tamarroq / Déchirure aims to tell the epic story of the Black March through the individual stories of those affected.

En 1975, le roi du Maroc fait un discours historique. Il invite 350 000 femmes et hommes à marcher sur le Sahara comme un seul Homme, dans ce qu’on a appelé à l’époque La Marche Verte. En colère noire, Boumediene, le président algérien procède à la massira al kahla (la marche noire) en expulsant près de 500 000 personnes originaires du Maroc, parfois depuis plusieurs générations.
En les séparant de leurs familles, enfants et biens, il a procédé à un acte de barbarie d’une extrême atrocité.
Depuis, ces victimes recueillies par le Maroc mènent une vie en sursis. Coupées de leurs racines et éloignées de leur patrimoine, elles ont les pieds au Maroc mais la tête ailleurs.
Ces femmes et hommes sont à jamais marqués par ce calvaire hérité de père en fils.
Le documentaire « Déchirure » a comme objectif de raconter la grande histoire de la marche noire via les histoires de chacun.
