SYNOPSIS :
After an exhausting journey to Europe, a young Afghan Fereshteh reaches Belgrade with her husband and three children. There, she finds out that her younger brother Ali, who came to Belgrade before them, has drowned and will soon be buried as an N.N.
In a story reminiscent of Sophocles’ Antigone, Fereshteh struggles against state structures, family tradition and the role of the woman in a patriarchal society.
Although Fereshteh doesn’t have personal documents and can not prove her own identity, she refuses to leave Belgrade before burying her brother under his proper name. She initiates a complex procedure to prove his identity through a DNA sample of her father who is still in Afghanistan.
After she finally succeeds and gets the permit to take over the body, Fereshteh learns that her father wants to bury his son in Afghanistan. Her whole life, Fereshteh has been following her father’s will indisputably. But this time, she decides to act on her own.
Director Biography – Vuk Ršumović
Vuk Ršumović is an award winning writer & director. He studied writing for film and theatre at the Faculty of Drama Arts in Belgrade and Studies of Analytical Psychology of Carl Gustav Jung both in Belgrade and Zürich.
His feature film debut No One’s Child had World Premiere at Venice Film Festival Critic’s Week where it won three awards: Settimana della critica Raro Video Audience Award, FIPRESCI Critics Award for Best Film (Orizzonti and International Critics’ Week), and FEDEORA Award for Best Script.
The film has won over 35 awards all over the world, among them New Voices/New Visions Award at Palm Springs International Film Festival, Best Film Award at GoEast Film Festival in Wiesbaden and Best Director Award at Tarkovsky International Film Festival.
In 2020, he wrote and directed TV mini-series The Mould based on a true story about a notorious « missing babies » affair in former Yugoslavia.
Dwelling Among the Gods is his second feature film.
He has been writing extensively for TV and theatre and works as a full time professor of Screenwriting and Film Directing. He is an active member of European Film Academy.

Synopsis
Après un épuisant périple vers l’Europe, une jeune Afghane, Fereshteh, arrive à Belgrade avec son mari et ses trois enfants. Là, elle découvre que son frère cadet Ali, arrivé avant eux, s’est noyé et sera enterré comme un N.N.
Dans un récit rappelant l’Antigone de Sophocle, Fereshteh lutte contre les structures étatiques, les traditions familiales et la place de la femme dans une société patriarcale.
Bien qu’elle ne possède aucun document personnel et ne puisse prouver sa propre identité, Fereshteh refuse de quitter Belgrade avant d’enterrer son frère sous son vrai nom. Elle engage une procédure complexe afin de prouver son identité grâce à un échantillon d’ADN de son père resté en Afghanistan.
Lorsqu’elle obtient enfin l’autorisation de récupérer le corps, Fereshteh apprend que son père souhaite enterrer son fils en Afghanistan. Toute sa vie, Fereshteh a suivi sans contester la volonté de son père. Mais cette fois, elle décide d’agir par elle-même.
Biographie du réalisateur – VUK RŠUMOVIĆ
Vuk Ršumović est un scénariste et réalisateur primé. Il a étudié l’écriture pour le cinéma et le théâtre à la Faculté des Arts Dramatiques de Belgrade, ainsi que la psychologie analytique de Carl Gustav Jung à Belgrade et à Zurich.
Son premier long métrage, No One’s Child, a eu sa première mondiale à la Semaine de la Critique du Festival de Venise, où il a remporté trois prix : le Prix du public Raro Video, le Prix FIPRESCI du meilleur film (Horizons et Semaine de la Critique), et le Prix FEDEORA du meilleur scénario.
Le film a remporté plus de 35 prix dans le monde, dont le New Voices/New Visions Award au Festival de Palm Springs, le Prix du meilleur film au Festival GoEast de Wiesbaden et le Prix du meilleur réalisateur au Festival Tarkovsky.
En 2020, il a écrit et réalisé la mini-série télévisée The Mould, inspirée de la célèbre affaire des « bébés disparus » dans l’ex-Yougoslavie.
Parmi les dieux est son deuxième long métrage.
Il écrit abondamment pour la télévision et le théâtre, et travaille comme professeur à plein temps de scénario et de réalisation. Il est également membre actif de l’Académie Européenne du Cinéma.

الملخص
بعد رحلة مرهقة إلى أوروبا، تصل فرشته، الشابة الأفغانية، إلى بلغراد مع زوجها وأطفالها الثلاثة. هناك تكتشف أن شقيقها الأصغر علي، الذي سبقهم إلى بلغراد، قد غرق وسيدفن كـ »مجهول الهوية ».
في قصة تستحضر أنتيغون لسوفوكليس، تخوض فرشته صراعاً ضد مؤسسات الدولة والتقاليد العائلية ودور المرأة في مجتمع أبوي.
ورغم أنها لا تملك وثائق شخصية ولا تستطيع إثبات هويتها، ترفض فرشته مغادرة بلغراد قبل أن تدفن شقيقها تحت اسمه الحقيقي. تبدأ بإجراءات معقدة لإثبات هويته عبر عينة حمض نووي من والدها المقيم في أفغانستان.
وعندما تحصل أخيراً على الإذن لاستلام الجثة، تعلم أن والدها يريد دفن ابنه في أفغانستان. طوال حياتها، كانت فرشته تتبع إرادة والدها دون نقاش. لكن هذه المرة، تقرر أن تتصرف بمفردها.
سيرة المخرج – فوك رْشوموفيتش
فوك رْشوموفيتش كاتب ومخرج حاصل على عدة جوائز. درس كتابة السيناريو للمسرح والسينما في كلية الفنون الدرامية في بلغراد، كما درس علم النفس التحليلي لكارل غوستاف يونغ في بلغراد وزيورخ.
فيلمه الروائي الأول No One’s Child عُرض لأول مرة في أسبوع النقاد بمهرجان فينيسيا السينمائي، حيث فاز بثلاث جوائز: جائزة الجمهور « Raro Video »، جائزة النقاد (FIPRESCI) لأفضل فيلم (Horizons وSemaine de la Critique)، وجائزة FEDEORA لأفضل سيناريو.
حصد الفيلم أكثر من 35 جائزة حول العالم، منها جائزة « New Voices/New Visions » في مهرجان بالم سبرينغز، جائزة أفضل فيلم في مهرجان « GoEast » في فيسبادن، وجائزة أفضل مخرج في مهرجان تاركوفسكي.
