Elias Khlat, born in Tripoli, Lebanon, in 1965, is a documentary producer and director
renowned for his significant contributions to Lebanon’s cultural and cinematic landscape.
After studying Advertising Design, he established « Eklat » in 1991, Lebanon’s first postproduction company, specializing in creative design, animation, and post-production projects.
In 2013, Elias founded the Tripoli Film Festival, aiming to revitalize the city’s cultural scene by bringing international films and guests to a city recovering from the wounds of war. His
dedication to cultural initiatives is further demonstrated through his involvement in various
civil initiatives, organizing social and cultural events, empowering youth, and advocating for
the preservation of Tripoli’s cultural heritage.
Throughout his career, Elias has served as a jury member, consultant, programmer and film
projects evaluator for numerous film festivals, both in Lebanon and internationally. He has
also organized various cinema-related events and workshops, contributing to the global
appreciation of Arab cinema.
Elias Khlat’s unwavering commitment to the arts and his efforts to promote cultural exchange have solidified his reputation as a pivotal figure in Lebanon’s film industry.

Elias Khlat, né à Tripoli au Liban en 1965, est un producteur et réalisateur de documentaires renommé pour ses contributions majeures au paysage culturel et cinématographique libanais. Après des études en Design Publicitaire, il fonde en 1991 Eklat, la première société libanaise de post-production, spécialisée dans la conception créative, l’animation et les projets de post-production.
En 2013, Elias crée le Festival du Film de Tripoli, visant à revitaliser la scène culturelle de la ville en accueillant des films et invités internationaux dans une ville encore marquée par les séquelles de la guerre. Son engagement envers les initiatives culturelles se manifeste également à travers son implication dans diverses initiatives civiles, l’organisation d’événements sociaux et culturels, l’autonomisation des jeunes et la promotion de la préservation du patrimoine culturel de Tripoli.
Tout au long de sa carrière, Elias a été membre de jurys, consultant, programmateur et évaluateur de projets cinématographiques pour de nombreux festivals au Liban et à l’international. Il a également organisé divers événements et ateliers liés au cinéma, contribuant à la reconnaissance mondiale du cinéma arabe.
L’engagement indéfectible d’Elias Khlat pour les arts et ses efforts pour promouvoir les échanges culturels ont consolidé sa réputation en tant que figure clé de l’industrie cinématographique libanaise.

إلياس خلّاط – السيرة الذاتية
إلياس خلّاط، من مواليد طرابلس، لبنان عام 1965، هو منتج ومخرج وثائقي مشهور بمساهماته البارزة في المشهد الثقافي والسينمائي اللبناني. بعد دراسة التصميم الإعلاني، أسس في عام 1991 شركة إكلات، أول شركة إنتاج ومونتاج في لبنان، متخصصة في التصميم الإبداعي والرسوم المتحركة ومشاريع ما بعد الإنتاج.
في عام 2013، أسس إلياس مهرجان طرابلس السينمائي، بهدف إعادة تنشيط المشهد الثقافي في المدينة من خلال استقطاب أفلام وضيوف دوليين إلى مدينة تتعافى من آثار الحرب. ويظهر التزامه بالمبادرات الثقافية أيضًا من خلال مشاركته في مبادرات مدنية، وتنظيم فعاليات اجتماعية وثقافية، وتمكين الشباب، والدفاع عن الحفاظ على التراث الثقافي لطرابلس.
خلال مسيرته المهنية، شغل إلياس عضوية لجان التحكيم، ومستشارًا، ومنسقًا للبرامج، ومقيّمًا للمشاريع السينمائية في العديد من المهرجانات داخل لبنان وخارجه. كما نظم عدة فعاليات وورش عمل متعلقة بالسينما، مساهماً في تقدير السينما العربية على المستوى العالمي.
