Khaoula Assebab Benomar, née en 1982 à Rabat, est une artiste marocaine au parcours remarquable, combinant une carrière florissante en tant que réalisatrice, écrivaine, journaliste, et militante des droits des femmes. Issue d’une famille où la création audiovisuelle et l’engagement artistique étaient présents – son père étant un pionnier de la fiction télévisée au Maroc – Khaoula a trouvé très tôt une voie dans le domaine artistique. Depuis ses débuts, elle s’est distinguée par son travail audacieux et engagé, à travers des films, des documentaires, des projets télévisuels et plus récemment, des publications littéraires.
Khaoula a commencé sa carrière professionnelle à la télévision marocaine en 2005, enchaînant les réalisations dans différents genres : émissions télévisées, documentaires et même des clips vidéo. Cependant, c’est dans le monde du cinéma qu’elle a vraiment trouvé son terrain d’expression. Passionnée par l’art du spectacle et de la mise en scène, elle a passé une décennie à diriger des performances majeures, notamment pour l’Orchestre Symphonique de la Gendarmerie Royale. Cette expérience a raffiné son sens du rythme, de l’esthétique visuelle et de la narration visuelle.
En 2016, Khaoula signe son premier long-métrage, Le Clair-Obscur, un film qui explore la complexité des relations humaines à travers un prisme émotionnel et poétique. Le film, salué par la critique, a parcouru plusieurs festivals internationaux, décrochant notamment le prix de la première œuvre au Festival National du Film de Tanger et au Festival International d’Alexandrie. Cette première réalisation a positionné Khaoula comme une voix unique du cinéma marocain, capable de raconter des histoires avec une profondeur qui touche à l’universel.

Khaoula Assebab Benomar, born in 1982 in Rabat, is a Moroccan artist with a remarkable career, combining work as a filmmaker, writer, journalist, and women’s rights activist. Coming from a family immersed in audiovisual creation and artistic engagement—her father being a pioneer of television fiction in Morocco—Khaoula discovered her artistic path at an early age. Since the beginning of her career, she has stood out for her bold and committed work through films, documentaries, television projects, and more recently, literary publications.
Khaoula began her professional career on Moroccan television in 2005, directing a variety of programs including TV shows, documentaries, and music videos. However, it was in cinema that she truly found her expressive medium. Passionate about performance and directing, she spent a decade leading major productions, notably for the Royal Gendarmerie Symphony Orchestra. This experience refined her sense of rhythm, visual aesthetics, and narrative storytelling.
In 2016, Khaoula directed her first feature film, Le Clair-Obscur, exploring the complexity of human relationships through an emotional and poetic lens. The film, praised by critics, was screened at several international festivals, winning awards for best debut at the Tangier National Film Festival and the Alexandria International Festival. This debut positioned Khaoula as a unique voice in Moroccan cinema, capable of telling stories with universal depth.

خولة السبّاب بن عمر، وُلدت عام 1982 في الرباط، هي فنانة مغربية ذات مسار مميز، تجمع بين عملها كمخرجة وكاتبة وصحفية وناشطة في مجال حقوق المرأة. نشأت في عائلة غارقة في الإبداع السمعي البصري والانخراط الفني، حيث كان والدها من الروّاد في مجال الدراما التلفزيونية بالمغرب، ووجدت خولة منذ صغرها طريقها في المجال الفني. منذ بداياتها، تميزت بأعمالها الجريئة والملتزمة من خلال الأفلام والوثائقيات والمشاريع التلفزيونية، ومؤخرًا المنشورات الأدبية
بدأت خولة مسيرتها المهنية في التلفزيون المغربي عام 2005، حيث أخرجت برامج متنوعة شملت البرامج التلفزيونية، الوثائقيات، والفيديو كليبات. ومع ذلك، كان السينما هي المجال الذي وجدت فيه تعبيرها الحقيقي. شغفها بفن الأداء والإخراج دفعها لقضاء عقد كامل في قيادة عروض كبيرة، لا سيما للأوركسترا السيمفونية للدرك الملكي، مما صقل إحساسها بالإيقاع والجماليات البصرية والسرد القصصي البصري
