SYNOPSIS :
Toufic, a widower in his ‘80s, answers the phone to be told of yet another friend who has died. He is lost in mournful contemplation when a beautiful woman mistakenly knocks on his door with a parcel, awakening something long dormant inside of him. He consults with his young friend who introduces him to a dating application. Toufic is primed to swipe right on every pretty young face, but the absurdity of real life intervenes
Director Biography – Karim El Rahbani
Karim Rahbani is a Lebanese award-winning director. His first two short films, “With Thy Spirit” and “Cargo, have been widely screened in numerous festivals around the world and garnered over 30 awards collectively.
His body of work in the film industry encompasses a diverse range of projects, spanning from fictional films and documentaries to TV shows and advertisement videos in the Middle East and the Gulf region.
In 2020 he was selected to write and direct a short film part of the International Emmy nominated series « Beirut 6:07 » following the tragic blast on August 04, 2020 that decimated the city.
Recently, Rahbani directed « Dark Minds », the first Arab docu-series about the serial killers of the region (produced by SRMG Studios and now on Netflix.)
In 2022 he co-founded RAHBANI 3.0 a music and film production.
He served as the director and co-producer of the 2024 Lebanese National Tourism Campaign “Meshwar Rayhin Meshwar”, which has received extensive promotion both domestically and among the diaspora.
Karim Rahbani is part of the third generation of the Rahbani family renowned for their vibrant oriental music and musical plays.

Synopsis :
Toufic, un veuf dans la fin de ses 80 ans, reçoit un appel lui annonçant la mort d’un autre ami. Perdu dans une méditation mélancolique, il voit sa solitude interrompue lorsqu’une belle femme frappe par erreur à sa porte avec un colis, réveillant en lui des émotions depuis longtemps endormies. Encouragé par son jeune ami, il découvre une application de rencontres. Prêt à « swiper » à droite sur chaque joli visage, il se retrouve vite rattrapé par l’absurdité de la vie réelle.

Karim El Rahbani est un réalisateur libanais primé. Ses deux premiers courts métrages, With Thy Spirit et Cargo, ont été projetés dans de nombreux festivals à travers le monde et ont remporté plus de 30 prix.
Son parcours dans l’industrie du cinéma englobe une large gamme de projets : fictions, documentaires, séries télévisées et publicités au Moyen-Orient et dans le Golfe.
En 2020, il a été sélectionné pour écrire et réaliser un court métrage dans le cadre de la série Beirut 6:07, nominée aux International Emmy Awards, consacrée à l’explosion tragique du 4 août 2020 à Beyrouth.
Plus récemment, il a réalisé Dark Minds, la première docu-série arabe sur les tueurs en série de la région (produite par SRMG Studios et aujourd’hui disponible sur Netflix).
En 2022, il a cofondé RAHBANI 3.0, société de production musicale et cinématographique.
Il a également coréalisé la campagne nationale de tourisme libanaise 2024 Meshwar Rayhin Meshwar, largement promue au Liban et auprès de la diaspora.
Issu de la troisième génération de la famille Rahbani, il perpétue l’héritage de cette dynastie célèbre pour sa musique orientale et ses comédies musicales.

الملخص
توفيق، أرمل في أواخر الثمانينات من عمره، يتلقى مكالمة هاتفية تخبره بوفاة صديق آخر. وبينما يغرق في التأمل والحزن، تطرق سيدة جميلة بابه بالخطأ حاملة طردًا، لتوقظ بداخله مشاعر طال سباتها. بمساعدة صديقه الشاب، يتعرف على تطبيق للمواعدة. وعلى الرغم من استعداده للانجذاب إلى كل وجه جميل يظهر أمامه، إلا أن عبثية الحياة الواقعية سرعان ما تقطع عليه أوهامه
