This film offers a unique experience for me, as my roots and identity have gradually diminished over time. The narrative of Tangier focuses on integrating the past into the present, rather than moving from the present to the past. Your duty is to convey these memories, rather than merely experiencing or imitating them. The life you are living now shapes the future you will encounter. Therefore, be authentic and share your memories and heritage with future generations. We exist in the present for tomorrow, not for yesterday. This is our identity, our legacy, and our memories.
Director Biography – ACHRAF EL AFIA
Achraf El Afia is a Moroccan filmmaker and director of photography with a background in cinematographic and audiovisual studies. He holds a professional bachelor’s degree in Film and Audiovisual Studies, as well as a specialized technician diploma in audiovisual image. Passionate about the art of visual storytelling, Achraf has worked on several documentary projects, He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in documentary filmmaking

Ce film représente une expérience unique pour moi, car mes racines et mon identité se sont progressivement estompées au fil du temps. La narration de Tanger se concentre sur l’intégration du passé dans le présent, plutôt que de passer du présent au passé. Votre devoir est de transmettre ces souvenirs, plutôt que de simplement les vivre ou les imiter. La vie que vous menez aujourd’hui façonne le futur que vous rencontrerez. Par conséquent, soyez authentique et partagez vos souvenirs et votre héritage avec les générations futures. Nous existons dans le présent pour demain, et non pour hier. C’est notre identité, notre héritage et nos souvenirs.
Biographie du réalisateur (Français)
Achraf El Afia est un cinéaste marocain et directeur de la photographie, avec une formation en études cinématographiques et audiovisuelles. Il est titulaire d’une licence professionnelle en études cinématographiques et audiovisuelles, ainsi que d’un diplôme de technicien spécialisé en image audiovisuelle. Passionné par l’art de la narration visuelle, Achraf a travaillé sur plusieurs projets documentaires. Il poursuit actuellement un master en réalisation documentaire.
