Synopsis :
World War II is underway in Yugoslavia. A child, fleeing from the fascist unit that killed the child’s parents and burned their village, finds temporary shelter in the house of a stranger.
Another significant difference between them is that the child is Christian and the host is Muslim. During the war in Yugoslavia, this fact often marked the line between life and death.
The host of the house confronts a profound moral dilemma, as his home comes under intense siege by fascist forces:
– whether to hand over the child to the persecutors, thereby compromising his deep-rooted beliefs and personal code, or
– to endanger the safety of own family by saving a young foreigner of another religion and nation?
When the host runs out of options, he is faced with a choice that will challenge his principles and define his legacy, and THE QUESTION IS: WHAT WILL HE DO?
*OBRAZ is a Shakespearean suspense drama with a historical background, set in the Balkans during WWII, Eastern (Balkan Western), carrying a powerful anti-war message. Set against the harrowing backdrop of World War II, this film unfolds over 36 intense hours along the Montenegrin border in Yugoslavia. Through the journey of one individual daring to stand against the might of the stronger, this film ignites reflection and inspires change. In a world where warring factions still push relentlessly toward mutual destruction, this story is a powerful reminder that humanity is our ultimate victory over violence and ruin. Director Biography – Nikola I. Vukcevic
Nikola Vukčević: A DISTINGUISHED MONTENEGRIN FILMMAKER AND EDUCATOR
Dr Vukčević is a prominent Montenegrin film and theatre director, university professor of Film Directing, and Head of the Department of Film and Media at the National University of Montenegro. He serves as the National Delegate of the Assembly of the Federation of European Film Directors (FERA) and held the position of President of the Festival Council of the Montenegro International Film Festival from 2020 to 2022. A Ph.D. in Filmology (Poetics of Ingmar Bergman as a Director in Film and Theater), he is also an alumnus of the prestigious Fulbright Program (IVLP) and a member of the Film Committee of the Montenegrin Academy of Arts and Sciences (CANU).
Vukčević has directed three feature films, including Montenegro’s national candidate for the Oscars in 2014, which have been showcased at numerous international festivals. He has also directed one full-length documentary and over 80 advertising campaigns.
Nikola Vukčević held the esteemed position of Artistic Director at the renowned City Theater Podgorica in the capital of Montenegro for seven theater seasons. From 2014 to 2017, he served as Vice President on the Board of Directors for the Public Broadcast Service of the National Radio and Television of Montenegro, during which time he played a key role in implementing crucial reforms to democratize the public service.
Vukčević’s distinguished reputation is not only rooted in the success of his creative work but also in his substantial contributions to society and his national commitments. His academic achievements further elevate his standing, as he is one of the key university professors of Film Directing in Montenegro, responsible for educating generations of young filmmakers from Montenegro and the wider former Yugoslav region. His influence on film studies in Montenegro has extended internationally, leading him to conduct masterclasses in Film Directing internationally, including in France, China, Turkey, Croatia, Portugal…
Through his multifaceted roles, Nikola Vukčević occupies a distinguished position within Montenegro’s artistic landscape, far beyond his accomplishments as a film director.

Synopsis
La Seconde Guerre mondiale fait rage en Yougoslavie. Un enfant, fuyant l’unité fasciste qui a tué ses parents et incendié leur village, trouve un abri temporaire dans la maison d’un inconnu.
Une différence essentielle les sépare : l’enfant est chrétien, tandis que l’hôte est musulman. Durant la guerre en Yougoslavie, ce simple fait pouvait déterminer la vie ou la mort.
L’hôte se retrouve confronté à un dilemme moral profond, alors que sa maison est assiégée par les forces fascistes :

OBRAZ est un drame shakespearien à suspense, sur fond historique, situé dans les Balkans pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Entre drame de guerre et « Western balkanique », il porte un message puissant contre la guerre. Sur 36 heures intenses, à la frontière monténégrine de la Yougoslavie, le film suit le parcours d’un homme qui ose s’opposer à la force écrasante. C’est une œuvre qui invite à réfléchir et inspire le changement. Dans un monde où les factions en guerre continuent de pousser vers la destruction mutuelle, cette histoire nous rappelle avec force que l’humanité est notre victoire ultime sur la violence et la ruine. Biographie du réalisateur – Nikola I. Vukčević
Nikola Vukčević est un réalisateur et pédagogue monténégrin de renom. Docteur en filmologie (Poétique d’Ingmar Bergman en tant que metteur en scène de cinéma et de théâtre), il est professeur de mise en scène de cinéma et chef du département de cinéma et médias à l’Université nationale du Monténégro. Ancien président du Conseil du Festival du Montenegro International Film Festival (2020-2022), il représente le Monténégro auprès de la Fédération européenne des réalisateurs de films (FERA). Fulbright alumnus, il est également membre du Comité du cinéma de l’Académie monténégrine des arts et des sciences (CANU).
Il a réalisé trois longs métrages, dont le candidat national du Monténégro aux Oscars en 2014, présentés dans de nombreux festivals internationaux, ainsi qu’un documentaire de long format et plus de 80 campagnes publicitaires.
Directeur artistique du Théâtre municipal de Podgorica pendant sept saisons, il a aussi siégé comme vice-président du Conseil d’administration de la Radio et Télévision nationale du Monténégro (2014-2017), contribuant à des réformes cruciales de démocratisation du service public.

سيرة المخرج – نيكولا فوكشيفيتش
يُعد الدكتور نيكولا فوكشيفيتش من أبرز المخرجين والمربين في الجبل الأسود. أستاذ الإخراج السينمائي ورئيس قسم السينما والإعلام في الجامعة الوطنية للجبل الأسود. شغل منصب رئيس مجلس مهرجان الجبل الأسود السينمائي الدولي (2020-2022)، كما يمثل بلاده في اتحاد المخرجين الأوروبيين (FERA). حاصل على الدكتوراه في علم السينما (Poetics of Ingmar Bergman as a Director in Film and Theater)، وهو أيضاً زميل في برنامج « فولبرايت » المرموق وعضو لجنة السينما في أكاديمية الفنون والعلوم في الجبل الأسود (CANU).
أخرج ثلاثة أفلام طويلة، بينها المرشح الرسمي للجبل الأسود لجوائز الأوسكار سنة 2014، إضافة إلى فيلم وثائقي طويل وأكثر من 80 حملة إعلانية.
شغل منصب المدير الفني لمسرح مدينة بودغوريتسا لمدة سبعة مواسم، كما كان نائباً لرئيس مجلس إدارة الإذاعة والتلفزيون الوطني (2014-2017)، حيث ساهم في إصلاحات جوهرية لتحديث الخدمة العامة.
