SYNOPSIS :
Gabrijela travels to New York to collect her late great aunt Gea’s belongings, who was a photographer, from the iconic artists’ residence, Westbeth. In the process, she discovers more about Gea’s life, immersing herself in her captivating photography and the personal belongings that reveal Gea’s world. As Gabrijela delves deeper, she comes to a profound realization about the transient nature of life. « The Dying of the Light » is a poignant exploration of the passage of time, the enduring power of art, and the impermanence of our existence.
BIOGRAPHIE :
Ivan Perić is a film director, writer and producer from Split, Croatia. He holds an MA degree in Sociology and an MA degree in Film and Media Arts from the Art Academy in Split, where he teaches. He was a co-writer and actor in the film « Through the Graves the Wind is Blowing » directed by Travis Wilkerson. The film had its premiere at Berlinale 2024.
He was a line producer for the Oscar-winning director Danis Tanović on his film « After the Summer ». The film « Tereza 37, » which he line produced, was the Croatian Candidate for the Oscars 2022. The film « Landscape Zero, » which he produced, was voted the best Croatian documentary of 2021. He has participated in many film workshops, including EAVE, Rotterdam Lab, Ex Oriente, Emerging Producers…

Synopsis :
Gabrijela se rend à New York pour récupérer les effets personnels de sa défunte grande-tante Gea, photographe, dans la célèbre résidence d’artistes Westbeth. Au fil de ce processus, elle découvre davantage la vie de Gea, s’immergeant dans sa photographie captivante et les objets personnels qui révèlent son univers. Biographie du réalisateur :
Ivan Perić est réalisateur, scénariste et producteur originaire de Split, en Croatie. Il est titulaire d’un Master en sociologie et d’un Master en arts cinématographiques et médiatiques de l’Académie des Arts de Split, où il enseigne. Il a coécrit et joué dans le film Through the Graves the Wind is Blowing, réalisé par Travis Wilkerson, présenté à la Berlinale 2024. Il a été producteur exécutif pour le réalisateur oscarisé Danis Tanović sur son film After the Summer. Le film Tereza 37, dont il a été producteur exécutif, était le candidat croate aux Oscars 2022. Le film Landscape Zero, produit par lui, a été élu meilleur documentaire croate de 2021. Il a participé à de nombreux ateliers de cinéma, dont EAVE, Rotterdam Lab, Ex Oriente et Emerging Producers.
